How to split a first week between Seoul and Busan
A flexible Seoul-to-Busan planning framework with room for travel days, neighborhood walks and real booking checks.

Choose two bases before choosing ten attractions
For a first visit of roughly a week, start with a Seoul base and a Busan base instead of treating every day as a new city. VISITKOREA includes Busan among its options for a short trip beyond Seoul, but your own arrival airport, flight home and available nights should decide the order. Put accommodation and the intercity transfer on the calendar first; leave that transfer day deliberately light.
Build each full day around one neighborhood or nearby pair. In Seoul, a palace and its surrounding streets make a different day from a Seongsu shopping loop. In Busan, a coast-focused day and a culture-focused day deserve separate time. K-VIBE has verified places in both cities, but a suggested plan is not a train ticket, a hotel reservation or a promise that a venue is open.
Protect the day you change cities
Before paying for a train or flight, check the operator’s current timetable, departure station, baggage rules and refund terms. Add travel to and from both stations, not only the time shown on the ticket. A midday transfer can consume much of the useful sightseeing window once checkout, luggage and check-in are included.
Keep a short, optional stop near the new accommodation rather than a timed cross-city attraction. If a concert, guided tour or restaurant reservation has a fixed start, give it its own day or a generous buffer. Save the Korean name and pin for the station, hotel and first destination, then refresh the local route just before leaving.
Make the plan useful when reality changes
For each city, pick one must-do, one flexible food stop and one backup for weather or sold-out entry. Check the official listing for opening days and any booking requirement. K-VIBE can group verified places and let you move or remove stops, but it cannot reserve tickets or guarantee a precise entrance-to-entrance journey.
If you have more than a week, add a rest day before adding a third region. Use the official regional guides to compare places that match your interests, then confirm transfer availability and costs separately. A smaller route you can actually enjoy is better than a long list that collapses after one delayed train.
